Tabs: The INCREDIBLY USEFUL Asana feature (that everyone misses)

Our clients love when we share simple little Asana hacks. And this one, is one of my favourites. This trick helps you take a project that's full of tasks and filter it down to the view that's most useful for you.

When you build out a project in Asana, you can set it up as a list, board or timeline. And you'll often find that different people on your team want to view the project in their preferred layout and often just their tasks.

If you wanted to do this a few years ago, it would require a lot more work. You had to multi-home tasks into different projects to display tasks in different ways. And this would clutter up your sidebar.

Now, we can create additional layouts and views using TABS. This is still a fairly new feature that a lot of people are still unaware of.

In this video, I’ll show you how to transform a cluttered project into a streamlined view that works for you using custom tab layouts in Asana. Whether you're a fan of Lists, Boards, or Timelines — or need a place for project notes — this feature helps you and your team work smarter without switching tools.

Here’s what you’ll learn:
✅ How to create new tab layouts in your Asana project
✅ How to use the Notes tab to reduce the need for Google Docs, Notion, or Word
✅ Why this reduces clutter and removes the need for multi-homing
✅ How to filter views by person, department, or task type
