This time last year, I sat in this same home office and recorded a video reflecting on the year that had been.
At the time, I didn’t really have a clear plan for what I wanted 2025 to look like. No big targets. No rigid goals. No sense of urgency to rush into the next thing.
Twelve months on, I can honestly say I’m really happy with how the year unfolded.
Not because everything went perfectly, but because a lot of the right things changed.
MinorCo Developments
One of the biggest themes of 2025 has how the team has developed.
For a long time, a lot of the progress in the business came down to me being involved in almost everything, decisions, delivery, sales, operations. That works up to a point, but eventually it becomes the bottleneck.
This year, that started to change in a meaningful way.
Charmayne, who joined the team late last year as my assistant, stepped up incredibly quickly and is now our General Manager. She’s responsible for day-to-day operations, supporting consultants, and keeping the business running while I focus on other areas.
Seeing that level of ownership develop so fast has been one of the most positive shifts of the year.
Letting the Team Own More of the Business
Alongside that, Andrew, one of our top Asana and Pipedrive consultants — took on responsibility for supporting our sales team.
He now helps with proposals, pricing, and follow-ups, which has taken a huge amount of pressure off me and made the sales process more consistent overall.
The common thread here has been handing over responsibility deliberately, rather than reactively.
The goal isn’t to disappear — it’s to build systems and trust so the business doesn’t rely on one person to function.
I’ve started thinking of my role more as building the machine, rather than being the machine.
Improving Pricing, Sales, and How We Work With Clients
Another big improvement this year came from working with an external consultant in Australia on our pricing and sales strategy.
Previously, we’d present prospects with a single proposal and a single price.
Now, we offer multiple options, which has made it easier for people to choose how they want to work with us, and has genuinely improved our conversion rate.
It’s also allowed us to provide more long-term support for clients who want it, instead of everything being a one-off engagement.
Small structural changes like this have had an outsized impact.
Personal Moments That Shaped the Year
Outside of work, 2025 was a huge year personally.
We welcomed our third child, Goldie, into the family. She’s already six months old, time flies!
Knowing this is likely our last child has given this year a different texture, every moment feels a bit more precious.
Not long after Goldie was born, we were also hit with a curveball when our eldest son, Jay, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It was a real shock, and an adjustment period for our family.
Watching how resilient and adaptable he’s been has been incredibly humbling, and it puts everything else into perspective very quickly.
One Year in the New House
We’ve also just wrapped up our first full year in our new home.
The video I recorded at the end of last year, the one that kicked off this reflection, was actually one of the first filmed in this office.
Building a house the way you want it, and then living in it, has been a deeply grounding experience. It felt like home straight away, and we’ve already made so many great memories here.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we head into 2026, there are a few things I’m really looking forward to.
We’ve got a new Monaco website going live soon, a more considered refresh after last year’s rebrand.
We’re also planning a team retreat in Bali in July. Bringing the team together in person, especially when so many of us work remotely, feels like a real milestone and something I never imagined we’d be able to do.
Beyond that, the focus stays the same:
- improving systems
- empowering the team
- making the business more resilient
- exploring new lead generation channels alongside YouTube
Nothing flashy. Just steady, deliberate progress.
Final Thoughts
2025 went by incredibly fast.
It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t easy. But it was meaningful, both professionally and personally.
If there’s one thing I’m taking into 2026, it’s this: progress doesn’t always come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from stepping back, trusting others, and building things that last.
Thanks for following along this year, and I’m looking forward to making more videos, writing more, and continuing to improve things in 2026.
